The Arts is one area of the Curiculum in which we endeavour to offer as much as we possibly can. The Arts comprises of Art, Drama and Music. The school staff are very gifted in these areas. The school seeks to include the expertise of parents, past pupils and members of the community.
The school enjoys putting on musicals. Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Red Riding Hood musicals were three recent productions. The school put on The Pied Piper of Hamlin last year. All pupils are involved in Christmas productions. The school produced its own podcast with St Mary’s Primary School, Newtownbutler.
Pupils are regularly taken to the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen, Devenish College and other venues to watch live stage productions. A trip to the pantomime in the Opera House, Belfast always proves a worthwhile venture. In 2013 we saw Cinderella in the Opera House. In 2012 we were involved in a production of Winners in the lead up to the Olympics of 2012. The PTA regularly invite theatrical productions to the school so that pupils have as much opportunity to watch live performances.
This year (2013-14) we enjoyed Stig of the Dump and will see Jack and the Beanstalk later this year. Years 5-7 are currently working with Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre. They are involved in creative dance and drama which tells us a little about leanring in the Moat in the past and of course what it is like today.
The school has valued the support from the Share Centre, Lisnaskea. Dylan Quinn Dance theatre has supported the school significantly with dance. They are involved in creative dance and drama with Years 5-7 on a production which tells us a little about leanring in the Moat in the past and of course what it is like today.
Art is very strong throughout the school. Specialists support artistic activities in various classes throughout the school. A number of Art and Craft clubs are also available in addition to normal art lessons in each class.
