Welcome to Stepping Stones ASD Class 

Mrs Mitchell is the class teacher who is ably supported by Mrs Foster (Classroom Assistant) 

Stepping Stones class provides specialist provision for up to eight pupils with ASD. 

The class uses a highly structured and visual approach to learning to ensure all pupils are provided with opportunities to reach their full potential. These pupils have access to the NI Curriculum in a small, supportive and nurturing environment, with a specific emphasis on developing the social and communication skills necessary for the pupil to reach their full potential.

Integration into school life and mainstream classes is encouraged as and when the individual pupil is ready.

Pupils have access to their own sensory room where they can experience a calming environment. 

The sensory room provides a fully equipped space to support pupils with emotional regulation too.
